Physiotherapy shouldn’t hurt and is completely safe. Physiotherapy often activates deep tissue, and it is quite possible that there will be some tenderness after a treatment session. Stretching and deep tissue work will often cause temporary tenderness.

Physiotherapy is designed to treat each patient as an individual. A full assessment of your condition will take place at your first appointment. The physiotherapist will do a physical assessment and will also review any relevant medical reports. Together with the patient, the physiotherapist will set realistic and achievable goals.

Please dress in comfortable and loose clothes. Please bring your own shorts. The physiotherapist might ask you to remove some of your clothing to be able to treat the affected area effectively.

We are a cash based practice. Patients are required to settle their account on the day of treatment. We only accept debit and credit cards (no cash). There is a card machine on site.

Yes, reminder emails and/or text messages are sent as a courtesy to all our patients, however the responsibility is on you to keep a record of all of your future appointments. To cancel or reschedule an appointment without incurring a charge, we require at least 6 hours’ notice. Appointments being cancelled or rescheduled within 6 hours of the appointment time will be liable to a late cancellation charge.

Physiotherapists are first line practitioners, therefore you do not need a referral from a doctor to see a physiotherapist.

It is understandable that if you are in pain, you want to be healed right away. Many people seek out medication that offer quick relief, and promise to eliminate your pain. These cures however just mask the pain and often force people into a continuing cycle of pain. Physiotherapy goes to the core underlying cause of your pain. Physiotherapy seeks out a long-term solution to reducing pain naturally and permanently. However, in some cases, a physiotherapist can offer immediate relief from pain.

Every situation is different. This will depend on your injury, your medical and physical condition and what you need to functionally return to your activities and goals. Your physiotherapist will be able to give you an idea on the number of treatments and a likely time frame after your assessment. It is important to understand that physiotherapy is not a quick fix, we want to provide professional and effective treatment that ensures a long-term solution to our patient’s.

First time visits usually require 60 minutes as this includes a full assessment and treatment. Follow up sessions are shorter, between 30- 45 minutes as the physiotherapist does not have to conduct a full assessment.

Yes, we will e-mail you a statement. The statement will include all the details necessary to claim from your specific medical aid. The medical aid will then reimburse you.
