Many of you may have tried Pilates before, but if you haven’t or have wondered about trying it, this may answer your questions.


As physiotherapists, we often get asked about Pilates and what it entails. Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that aims to improve flexibility, strength and improve postural control.


It was founded by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century and emphasizes movement with breathing, control, concentration and precision to target your deep stabilizing muscles.
